Breakside Brewery in Portland, OR is releasing Big Country, the first in a series of limited release, seasonal beers. The beer is the brewery’s take on a winter ale and inspired by the starkbiers and weinnachtsbeirs found in Germany. It is available now through February 1, 2014 both on draft and in 22 oz bottles in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and British Columbia.
To mark the occasion a release party will take place on Monday, December 2nd at Saraveza Bottle Shop & Pasty Tavern. The entire Breakside brewing staff will be at the party and bottles of Big Country will be for sale. They will also have two other Breakside beers on tap – Smoked Apple Ale and Wanderlust IPA – and plenty of cool schwag for the 7:00 p.m. raffle.
